The building of the Municipal Library and Toy Museum is seen as the solution to existing urban problems, valuing this modern Public area. This new volumetry promotes the restoration of the urban fronts of Serpa Pinto Street, Terreirinho Street and the center of the block. The different heights of the buildings are respected, giving continuity to the local morphology. The main façade is related to the "New Square" and stands out for its transparency, always maintaining a relationship between interior and exterior. Through the vertical blades of the facade, it is assumed as the main indirect source of natural light for the interior "Program" of the building. Its volumetry turns it into a light and delicate public building, relating harmoniously with the surroundings. With the aim of reducing the impact of the construction on the scale of Serpa Pinto Street, it is proposed the reconstruction of the old façade, which corresponds to one of the local pre-existences. The Municipal Library and the Toy Museum gather in themselves shapes and volumes that resemble the scale of the urban design of the historic area of the city of Torres Vedras.
