FIRST-CLASS CONNECTION
The Munich Airport is a central hub in a constantly changing world. The goal is therefore to create con- nections which are not only reliable but also characterised by partner- ship, responsibility, innovation and competence ...
For some decades, Munich Airport has regularly been represented at the ITB Berlin with an extensive information package—since 2016 in
a new guise. For the leading international travel trade fair, Munich-based Buero Philipp Moeller designed a stand for the globally operating group which gives a spatial dimension to the new look and also the new brand message “living ideas - connecting lives”. As Munich Airport is built on
an architecturally clear basic grid of 1.20 by 1.20 m across all terminals, the ground plan and cubage of the booth was structured by a strict grid, interrup- ted spatially only by the so-called connector—the accentuated forward slash of the new logo. The result were central places of encounter in which the desired connections could be intensified through personal contact to customers and partners. The modular and flexible construction also allowed the new booth concept to be used in many different ways and again and again. At the ITB Berlin the 15 by 15 m version was chosen and the natural and high-quality materials in use throughout made the 225 m2 stand appear modern and open. The system can, however, also be adapted for booths of 40 m2 at regional fairs or on 350 m2, such as a the Munich exhibition transport logistic.
