The Muncie MOMA addresses the decaying condition of Middletown and contrasts the context, which can only offerhomogenous and ambiguous experience of abandonedand barely occupied side-by-side, through the specifi c andinclusive apertures to which the building announces itself discreetly. To discuss the dichotomy the exterior remains stark and specific whereas the courtyard glows warm; a microcosmof sociality and ecology represent the possibility of the city. This small scale possibility considers the lightweight answerof a boardwalk over the earth rather than choking coverand deep penetration into the land as a model for possible green spaces across Muncie, while bringing vital additional cultural programming to activate the downtown district.
