Reclamation of a degraded area that throughout the decays was scene of
news items and social troubles. This intervention builds an occasion of
upgrading and reappropriation of a piece of town. Hinge between the
historical centre and the south industrial area, the complex shall
include indoor shopping centers and free-time facilities subsidiary to
the ones of the town centre, of which the complex itself builds an
extension. A whole range of services for the community shall contribute
to increase the city quality: a park of 50,000 sqm, underground parking
places, pedestrian paths and bikeways, new roads, public space. Great
attention has been paid to the use of environmentally compatible
energies and materials, from the planted roof, through photovoltaic,
trigeneration, to geothermal power.
