This project called for a temporary pavilion for Wired Magazine’s
Nextfest exhibit, located beside a water inlet and harbor along
Milwaukee’s lake shore. Milwaukee wishes to use the pavilion for 2 years
after the one-week Nextfest exhibition, the pavilion will be removed
(left image), but must be able to be re-assembled at a later date.
Ground plane manipulations will remain and become integral to the future
use of the park. Kit-of-part-design and pre-fabricated components with
emphasis on assembly make up the tectonic strategy. Movement and
temporality combine to organize the program and experience.
