a community house in the center of Böblingen.the new building forms the outdoorspace of the Plattenbühl and works at the same time as a joint between street and lake. The “Treff am See“ offers space for a wide range of users: young people,fathers and mothers with little children and senior citizens and it is part of the multigenerational - programm of the federal goverment. The entrance hall, the café, the seminary-rooms and the meeting hall around the central stairway are showing extrahigh ceilings. their spacial connections offersa wide range of outlooks and vistas. The mutual openenings to city and lake intensify the function of the joint and settle the new buliding right in the middle of Böblingen.The facade is build in subtle pigmented concrete and shows a craftsmenlike finish: bushhammered, boated and sand-blasted. these differently treated concrete surfaces work as a reference to the histoîc sorrounding with landmarks in sandstone.- and the ornament carries the spatial indoor-sequences to the outside.
