Project Goals
The Community Food and Arts Center is the vision of a unique client who sees the forwarding of her community as a destination for food and arts lovers as a goal in and of itself. The projects aims to provide needed and useful infrastructure for artists and food producers who might not be able to invest in this infrastructure on their own.
Challenges and Solutions
The primary challenges in this project involve finding the uses that will have the most positive impact and then convincing the municipality that these uses will have a positive impact on the community even though they do not fit within the rigid zoning ordinance. The secondary challenge is to give the project a look that acknowledges the creative spirit within and the deeply traditional village without.
