Muddy light pavilion
Muddy light pavilion is built for the 2014 art festival at Echigo-Tsumari Satoyama Contemporary Art Museum (Kinare) in Tokamachi. The pavilion is covered with the braided straw. This stripe straw is fixed in raw wood columns in every 4 cm and is painted in mud. In the daytime wind and sound can go through between the gaps.
At night the pavilion turns into lamp and the light comes out through the wall. The light is a kind of sign for the art festival.
The wall gently wraps the inner space and gives comfort and relax.
