The exhibition "Moving Art," designed for the fifth anniversary special project of Wallpaper*, is located within a historic Mediterranean-style villa in the Hengfu cultural and historical district on Wukang Road, Shanghai. The original building served as the Italian Consulate General in Shanghai. Leveraging the inherent spatial characteristics of the architecture, we have integrated the theme of "Moving Art" by utilizing the existing garden corridor to connect each exhibition space, creating a dynamic flow throughout the venue. Additionally, considering the exhibition's proximity to the season of Shanghai's plane trees turning orange and the ginkgo trees shining gold, we have revamped the entire exterior facade of the building. Sustainable and reusable metals are used for the transformation and embellishment, with the reflective texture of metal mirrors combined with color filter layers to evoke the autumn atmosphere, resonating with the overall natural ambiance of the historical neighborhood. Both internally and externally, the exhibition spaces harmonize with each other, incorporating natural colors and textures to different thematic areas, resulting in a visually cohesive experience characterized by "diversity in unity," fostering interconnected dialogues.
