Inspired by the rich traditions and heritage of Southeast Asia, reinterpreted in a fresh and contemporary manner, the design creates a timeless aesthetic that is comfortable for patients and visitors representing a broad range of distinctive religions and customs.
Classic luminous onyx at the entry lobby sets a luxurious tone as staff members provide concierge assistance and escort patients to their destination. The modulation of lighter and darker experiences throughout the building distinguishes this project from standard clinical environments, which tend to be uniformly, and overly, bright. By connecting a majority of individual spaces throughout the building to daylight, and reducing the illumination in transition areas, the setting is reminiscent of an upscale urban resort.
All 312 private patient rooms feature custom furnishings to establish a feeling of well-appointed efficiency. Floor-to-ceiling windows maximize the healing power of natural light, while rooftop gardens contribute to the nurturing environment. The unique canted patient room design enables greater access to views while facilitating efficient monitoring of patients by clinical staff.
The development sets a new benchmark in sustainability, earning Singapore’s Green Mark Platinum certification for its eco-friendly features, including aerial gardens and integrated photovoltaic green technology.
