The MotivMfg Brand Store, set in a historic semi-arched factory in the 798 art district, is a fusion of tradition and modernity, reflecting the brand's "Tradition for the Future." Designed by PILLS in 2022, this space, once MotivMfg's studio, is transformed into a multi-functional brand store. The design retains the original architectural elements like the brick walls and semi-arched roof while introducing new features like a black polyhedral installation that reorganizes the space and serves multiple purposes, including stairs, cashier, and storage. The store's unique layout and distinct north and south areas create a dynamic shopping experience. Elements from sanatoriums and hospitals are repurposed as display props, adding depth to the space. The design also addresses the building's old issues like leakage and temperature extremes, while the third floor hosts a bookstore, further enhancing the cultural aspect of the space. The store's façade, a rock wall with steel windows, sets a mysterious tone, aligning with the brand's ethos and creating an immersive, nostalgic, yet forward-looking shopping environment.
