Our main inspiration
for participating in this
competition was the desire to give to this structure the esthetic value which this monumental work of Soviet
architects deserves. We found our inspiration in the past of the Russian people,in Moscow and in the Russian fascination with art.
The centre-point of the proposal
is the preservation of the original look of the building. The colour
resolution, as the basic fundament of our activity, the use of gold in a
variety of shades and structures, is meant to evoke a jewel, a solitaire, statue, work of art, goldsmithery, a work whose
chief purpose is to extend the celebration of culture and art, drama, art
retransformed to Moscow, to the whole of Russia, to the world...
Here
the pilgrim stops and exclaims – this is the place where you can find that what
in this hurried world there is less and less of... art, beauty, wisdom and
valuable enjoyment and relaxation...
