"SKOLKOVO"
business school is aiming to built a creative environment, where
innovative projects are going to be generated. This special community
needs the particular spatial conditions.
In
this design, my primary concern was the creation of a space that
would stimulate communication between people and generation of new
ideas.
Here
I provided many different places for communication and "accidental
encounters" and developed diverse circulation routes. Work
places, to the contrary, are made as small as possible.
This
kind of spatial solution makes people want to move, socialize and
take part in collaborative work on projects.
Light,
circulation and variability of space - these are the main design
principles of the interior. It is supposed to promote movement and
communication between people.
Staircases,
footbridges, mirrored walls... With each step, you face a new
perspective or unexpected view.
The
meeting room cubicles on the second tier are painted with coloursof
three faculties of the school, while their side walls are made of
mirrored glass creating endless perspectives of reflections.
While
you are here, you can not be bored, yet there is nothing aggressive
about the design. This is a place for rich creative work and
communication.
