The Morris Guesthouse is a 2,400 square foot project that consists of an existing barn adjacent to a larger residence on a lake in Connecticut. The barn was converted into a guesthouse with two bedrooms, a guest kitchen/dining area and a lofted living space to house visiting family and friends. The spaces were arranged in a particular manner to afford views of the lake and covered porches at each room for a tranquil and contemplative home away from home. Once the guesthouse was complete, the client returned to have us renovate their main residence(photos © Durston Saylor).
