The conceptual foundation of the pavilion draws upon two emblematic typologies: the medina gate and the Bedouin tent. These elements are reinterpreted to transcend their traditional functions and assume new spatial and symbolic roles within a contemporary architectural language.
The medina gate, historically a threshold between the urban interior and the external world, is deconstructed and multiplied. Rather than a singular monumental प्रवेश, the pavilion proposes a sequence of gates of varying scales and proportions. This multiplicity generates a porous architectural system that encourages fluid movement and visual permeability. It establishes a dialogue between interior exhibition spaces and the surrounding environment, fostering a sense of openness, accessibility, and invitation.
In parallel, the Bedouin tent informs the design of the pavilion’s roofscape. Traditionally associated with nomadic life in southern regions, the tent embodies adaptability, lightness, and climatic responsiveness. These qualities are translated into a modular roofing system based on a non-repetitive grid.
