Nestled in the laid-back beach town of Montauk, the A-Frame House embodies a harmonious blend of modern design and natural elements, seamlessly integrated into its stunning natural surroundings. The project draws inspiration from the classic A-frame structure while infusing it with a contemporary aesthetic that celebrates the simplicity of coastal living.
With a focus on using natural materials that complement the existing landscape, the A-Frame House is designed to let the outdoors in. The exterior is clad in locally sourced cedar wood. Using a process similar to shou sugi ban, the exterior is darkened to blend in with the native flora. Large windows and sliding glass doors invite ample natural light and offer panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, creating a seamless connection between the interior and exterior spaces.
Inside, the minimalist interiors are characterized by clean lines, neutral colors, and natural textures. The open-plan living area features a vaulted ceiling that enhances the sense of space and airiness. The kitchen is a study in understated elegance, with sleek cabinetry and minimal countertops designed to blend seamlessly into the overall aesthetic.
The bedrooms are serene retreats, with private balconies that offer sweeping views of surrounding landscape. The bathrooms are luxurious yet understated, with natural stone and wood, elegant fixtures, and a spacious indoor/outdoor shower that evokes a sense of calm and relaxation.
The A-Frame House exemplifies our commitment to creating thoughtful design that enhance the natural beauty of their surroundings. With its blend of modern design, natural materials, and minimal interiors, this project is a testament to the timeless appeal of coastal living.
