Mondo Minerals is the world’s second largest producer of talc. The company desired a trade fair stand to exhibit the material qualities of talc and incorporate this qualities in the atmosphere of the stand. Talc is a white and soft mineral and crystal talc structure consists of hexagonal plates, melted together into solid crystals. We took this geometrical principle of talc crystals as the basic for the design of the Mondo Minerals trade fair stand for the European Coatings Show in Nürnberg.
The trade fair stand consist of an open zone with bar, lounge, meeting tables and displays as well as an enclosed meeting room and a kitchen area. The spatial enclosures of the meeting room and the kitchen as well as the bar and displays are designed in the hexagonal geometry of the talc crystal, forming a layer landscape of talc crystals. The three displays for talc rocks continue the hexagonal structure with their transparent acrylic covers. The stand is dominated by the matt, white coating representing the white, soft talc and the hexagonal geometry of the crystalline talc.
