“Momentum Home, a couple’s first home that can grow as the family does”
‘Such is life’ so is your home. MOMENTUM Home offers young couples an excellent foundation to start their lives together and the infrastructure to grow with the needs and size of their future family. Phase 1 is designed as a starter home around a young couple with limited finances that are looking to have a piece of the American dream. The home provides a modern, open structure with a footprint of a modest 1120sf. The home meets their current needs while keeping the mortgage cost down and limiting the energy consumption. In this phase, the master suite is on the first floor with the living areas, while the office/media room is raised to the second floor integrating it with the outdoors on a green roof terrace, giving the young entrepreneur a place to contemplate and escape.
As the speed of their lives increase and their family size gains momentum with the addition of children, the need for additional space looms. If the couple’s hearts are still rooted in the community and location they are in, then comes the time to integrate Phase 2. This second step moves the master suite to the third floor along with the addition of two bedrooms and a bath. The first floor master suite becomes a flexible guest room that can double as a media or play room. Typically the integration of an addition would require a new separate mechanical system and structural foundation. The MOMENTUM home geothermal system is already sized for the expansion and would only need to be extended. The sun trellis structure and columns around the green roof are sized and oriented for the addition of Phase 2. The photovoltaic array would simply be relocated to the new roof. The intent is to be able to expand your home with minimal impact on your lifestyle and the environment.
