MoMA Tower: Shifting Transformations

Firm
PennDesign MArch, 700 level design studioInstructor: Ali RahimComponent studies focused on the relationship between shifting form and changing color. Transformation from open to closed aperture as well as varied space packing configurations allowed for a continuous field of related parts that ultimately created dynamic interior spatial potential and exterior form.Space packing construction allows for the integration of various program types, spaces and volumes. Loose pack and dense pack of different sectional conditions relates to intermixed program organizations. Juxtaposition of dense and loose space allows for discreet areas to feed into larger open volumes. The building’s woven circulation condition provides for explicit visual connectivity between spaces.
