This addition to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, CA provides improved husbandry and care facilities for the aquarium’s collection of over 12,500 animals. The project includes an 1,800 SF animal hospital building as well as an array of outdoor holding and quarantine tanks. Activities of the aquarists and veterinarians are put on display to aquarium visitors through large windows facing the visitor path as well as through a series of interactive exhibits and video screens. The project is expected to achieve a LEED Platinum rating.
