Prior to renovation, this home had great potential but suffered from partially obstructed views, piecemeal design elements, and a general lack of character inside and out. The goals then were to add warmth, comfort, an charm, to open the interior spaces and pool area to the incredible views and to achieve a more human scale given the existing high ceilings. The entire house was redesigned to convey colonial plantation architecture reminiscent of the tropical South. This project won the BIA Hawaii Renaissance Building & Remodeling 2007 Overall Grand Award.
