“Moisés Ruiz” Sports hall1st Prize in Competition. The building, which forms part of the facilities for the 25th Mediterranean Games, is created in response to complex specifications incorporating both sporting and administrative use. It is based on three basic principles, which were already included in the initial principles behind the competition: it had to be a versatile building that blended in with its surroundings and conserved the existing palm grove. The result was a large, compact and functional building that contains the area for both sports administrative uses. The external walls envelop the facility, softening its connection with the surrounding urban space. The changing rooms, warm-up track and multi-purpose hall are situated on the ground floor. The first floor is for administrative use and the second floor contains a bar café that boasts some excellent views over the city.
