Ogawa / Depardon was commissioned to renovate & restructure an existing modernist house in Bedford, New York.
The existing house was beautifully sited overlooking a large lake deep in the woods. But from inside the house small windows & unsightly decks & sidings kept the garden?s view from being seen, much less enjoyed.
The design consisted of tearing off the back wall of the house & restructuring it with a steel frame. This allowed very large custom wood & glass windows to be introduced giving full-unencumbered access & views to the beautiful site.
The house was gutted & modernized throughout.
