Mockingbird Trail will be South Florida’s first urban art trail and will encourage residents to step outside and explore. The team has crafted a story for the neighborhood — a tale of a giant orange mockingbird, illusive to the human eye. Sprinkled along the trail will be evidence of its existence in the form of large public art sculptures. The urban trail will link under-utilized spaces with existing neighborhood points of interest, and is intended for each visitor to interpret and conceive their own tale of this mythical neighborhood bird. Mockingbird trail encourages a slower pace, provides an opportunity to discover, and most of all persuades local residents to step outside and roam.
