Plymouth Truck Station is an addition to an aging metal building that currently houses road and bridge maintenance equipment for the State of Minnesota Department of Transportation. This facility is one of several spaced throughout the Minneapolis and St. Paul Metro area to serve the transportation infrastructure of the region.
This facility houses road maintenance staff, office personnel and equipment service staff (vehicle mechanics). The building is heated, covered vehicle storage, state of the art vehicle service bays, work shop areas including wood shop and metal and welding shops and general storage areas. The Office wing includes break room and meeting room facilities, as well as office space and restroom and locker areas for staff.
The goal of MnDOT is to provide facilities that will last 50 years or more. Durable, locally made precast concrete panels and concrete block were selected as the primary construction materials for the facility.
