An empty and free underground limited at the edges by two walls made of exposed bricks reused from the former residence at the same venue. This was the starting point for the project. Two blocks, with exposed concrete supporting structures only at the divisions of the property, make the beautiful solid slabs fly over the area. One block is connected to the other through a metallic footbridge. This allows the creation of a spacious area that mix in and outside, upper and lower floors, private and social areas, urban and natural. The project is distributed within this spacious area playing with emptiness and fullness, showing-off and hiding at the same time. Additionally, a “Pau Ferro” tree intrudes this hide and seek game and invades this spacious area in an uninhibited way. A light metallic structure lies on top of the two blocks where the technical part and a solarium are resting on the top of this building.
Demolition wood, exposed concrete, white burnt cement, steel, demolition bricks, and white gravel have been employed in this construction. The use of these materials seeks for authenticity.
