Mixedmedia InstallationClient: Mixedmedia Festival of Electronic CultureProject Type: InstallationPrincipal Designer/s: Gianluca MilesiDesign Team: Giovanna Caravello, Ario Lockey, Girogio VillaContractor/s: Icet, MilanDate of commencement of project (actual or projected date): April 2006Date of completion of project (actual or projected date): May 2006Location of site: Milan, BicoccaSite Area: Hangar Bicocca, MilanBuilt-up Area: Cost of Construction/Execution: 15.000 E. + Toshiba technical supportProject write-upThe E-exhibition has been part of the Architectural section of Mixedmedia, a festival of Electronic Culture held In Milan, Hangar Bicocca, the 25th of May through the 28th of May 2006.The work of many of the most prominent architects all over the world such as Peter Eisenman, UN Studio, MVRDV, Zaha Hadid, Diller & Scofidio, Massimilianio Fuksas,.., has been exhibited through digital and electronic material with the support of 20 Laptops.The installation has been based on a conceptually and practically deformed surface, divided in 50 modules in order to host the computers and the screens on some, 20, of them.Four 5 by 4 meters screens, located on the sides of the installation, were used to projects videos.Very un expensive materials, such as recycled wood panels, has been used to build the modules/cubes, in order to contain the budget, fixed on 12.000 Euros.The installation was intended in order to give the information punctually and to create a friendly environment for the visitors at the same time. The event has been supported and patronized by Pirelli, by local and national and local Public Institutions and by Toshiba for the computers supply.
