In the very heart of the historic Gdańsk Shipyard, a new ensemble of
two eight-storey commercial buildings has been constructed, complementing the quarter
adjacent to the European Solidarity Centre and the legendary BHP Hall.
The architecture reflects the industrial character of the site: brick façades clad in
ceramic tiles and large factory-style windows create a contemporary interpretation
of shipyard halls, whilst the top storeys, finished in Corten steel, engage in a unique
dialogue with the site’s iconic ECS building. The compact, atrium-style layout organises the space, opening up a viewing passage towards the BHP Hall. The ground floors are designed to house public services, whilst the roofs feature green spaces that enhance the ecology of the fifth façade. The development, comprising 569 hotel units, is set to become a key element in the transformation of Młode Miasto, blending the site’s heritage with a new urban energy.
