Recreating the high street experience
MixC Guiyang is a curated retail destination that seeks to create the high street experience indoors.
The development offers an advantageous location and convenient connectivity, situated in the main urban area of Guiyang and at the intersection of Renmin Avenue and Jiefang Road. With six floors above ground and three floors underground, the size and scale of the project have provided the opportunity to create something different.
The design concept looks to create an indoor retail experience that offers the same scale, characteristics, and proportions as a ‘high street’. The vision was to create spaces encouraging social engagement, and community activation and that animated the pedestrian experience inside the development.
The development is crafted as a combination of a commercial mall and a multi-level commercial street. On the ground floor, visitors are welcomed by an open-plan street setting on the one side, and a grand staircase to sit and rest on the other.
Two significant indoor atriums feature a series of terraces for retail and dining tenants, establishing a similar experience to the outdoors yet in the comfort of an indoor environment. The project is designed to house leading international retail brands and to give tenants the flexibility to express themselves within an elegant and engaging destination.
MixC Guiyang successfully integrates dining, entertainment, leisure, culture and retail to establish a new commercial landmark for the city.
