Space description
Mitsui Warehouse, also known as Memory Warehouse.
In the center of the first floor, we set a “memory book store” as the most important space in the memory warehouse, where people can get the historical memory of the development around the North Gate, Mitsui Warehouse and even Taipei. When people walk into the small bookstore, they feel a bright and simple display space. We use this pure space to highlight the cultural relics and create an atmosphere that respects the past history. In addition to seeing many artifacts showing past history in this space, visitors can also use the technical experience of VR to receive the stories of Mitsui Warehouse and Bemen and the historical memory of Taipei.

The metal arches respond to the image of the brick arch.
The glass bricks and the bricks from the space of the memory book store, and the bricks are stacked to respond to the brick texture of the Mitsui warehouse.
The millstone floor creates a nostalgic space, making the space of the Memory Book Store simple and pure.
The color of metal bookshelves changes over time, recording the flow of time.
B r I c k
Memory Book Store is a wall space of 7mx4m. The wall material is glass brick with brick and a metal shelf surrounded by walls. We attempted to put it in a light and penetrating body and reuse the bricks.
The stacking of block corresponds to this brick-built historical building, creating an interesting dialogue between "new" and "old".
The bookshelf chooses to use metal as the material. I hope that its color will change with time. It will changed from the new bright and state. In the process of gradual change, the flow of time will also make the memory book city " The new "slowly merges with the "older" of Mitsui Warehouse.
Memory Wall - Travel through time
When we took the elevator to the second floor and saw the wall at first sight, we set the original old steel column on the ground as a historical display, and used a wire mesh to make a frame with red bricks hanging above. The shape of the arched hole is made of iron plate, and the art of the installation is used to let the visitors see the window through the hole, and they will see an image about the relationship between local and the Mitsui warehouse.
Dining area and Bar
In this building, we set up a bar and dining area to diversify the subsequent operations and attract more people to visit. You can come here for coffee, reading, listening to lectures and participating in the show. Good times, we tried to create a space atmosphere compatible with the ocean with the "Taisho Romance" style, so we used a lot of retro bricks and tiles to make the field segmentation, the bottle-shaped lamps, the brick walls of the bar, and the toilet. Wall bricks.. and so on.
The long seating area on the first floor set as the coffee seat, and the vintage green flannel is used to present the atmosphere of the era.
