SUM Design Studio
SUM Design Studio raises the roof, literally, for Mississippi Studios' renovation. The design studio helps the Northeast Portland institution transform from a street-church-turned-music-club to a spacious venue with more than twice as many seats and a future roof garden. The extensive renovation included a complete tear-down and new construction on the existing footprint. Distinctive features include a new kitchen and lounge, a suspended balcony (eliminating the need for columns), acoustically designed walls for optimum performance, and structural support for a future roof garden.
