Located in the bustling Old Town district of Dubai is Mirai. This sleek, modern take on classic Japanese design is reflected in the innovative food being served here. Mixing black lacquers around a core of red, the vibrant design has helped to keep Mirai a favourite with the more glamourous dining crowd. The imperative here was to create a space far behind your average dining experience. The first surprise is the luxurious 6.5m high space, dotted with long, custom-made cloth lanterns printed with the hallmark of Japanese fish tattoo design. Underneath the glowing lights, sculptural, glossy black seats by Conran contrast with the warm, stone pillars and walls and glowing, red backwall.As befits a restaurant of this class, the DJ booth ensures only the right music graces the space while mezzanine dining ensures a bit of privacy
