The design concept was to obtain comfort, warmth, and an exciting
office/bar environment for the employees and visiting guests. A tight budget on money, energy, and a compressed
schedule presented large challenges that were met with smart solutions and a
fast paced team.
The bar utilizes T5 3000k fluorescents within millwork to warmly
glow bottles and signage. Adjustable accents
showcase the bar top and surrounding tables while integrating into the
architecture. A programmable dimming system
creates several scenes that are utilized throughout the day.
The feature staircase connects the executive floor to the
bar and showcases reclaimed brick from an original brewery. The lighting grazes
the brick using 70w metal halide fixtures mounted along the curved wall,
punching it with long lasting lamps and brilliant color. The ceiling houses a fluorescent cove and
recessed downlights to highlight the stairs.
The lamps types are minimal to ease maintenance and energy efficiency.
The heart of the workplace is the entry corridor showcasing
brand identity graphic walls. Asymmetric
metal halide fixtures provide a strong even punch of light on the wall. The interior conference rooms glow with (4)
lamp (2) ballast 2x2 fluorescents. One
circuit is colored amber using theatrical gel sleeves to convey a warm “beer
land” color through the translucent walls.
The second circuit remains white which is triggered on an occupancy
sensor.
The workspace mixes a curved edge tile grid and an open to
the deck ceiling. The lighting successfully merges these by
introducing pendants hung flush with the tile and continuing to the open space.
Oversized round pendants play against the linear slots for a
unique design. The workspace uses energy efficient sources to meet the ASHREA
energy code and LEED requirements.
Recessed metal halide fixtures illuminate the corridors
graphic walls to give energy and boldness to the passageway.
