This 6th-floor 50sqm rooftop garden in EC4 is perched snugly right above the Norman Foster’s iconic Millennium Bridge, halfway between St Paul’s Cathedral & Tate Modern. With our clients based in Portugal & London, we designed a Mediterranean roof garden which not only echoes the Portuguese garden, but also copes well with the River Thames’ blustery airstreams & heat & sun of the open rooftop.
With a 360-degree panorama above Central London, the wealth of epic landmarks is a sight to behold, where the architectural design of the roof garden merges fluidly into the architectonic skyline. Bespoke porthole orange planters, white & grey paired high troughs and tree planters provide a home for a biodiverse palette of Mediterranean plant species.
Agapanthus, Agave, Arbutus, Astelia, Chamaerops, Dasylirion, Hebe, Lavandula, Libertia, Lithodora, Nepeta, Nerium, Phillyrea, Pinus, Pittosporum, Prostanthera & Stachys thrive here. Sprawling untamed to provide a year-round textural cascade.
Ipe decking, Manutt furniture, irrigation & lighting provide indulgent outdoor living, maximising the bijou breadth composed for comfort.
