Mutual of Omaha undertook the Midtown Crossing mixed-use development to revitalize the historic neighborhoods adjacent to its headquarters in Midtown Omaha. It consists of 15 acres in Midtown Omaha and includes new streetscapes, residential buildings, retail, entertainment, park grounds and parking. Lighting plays an integral part in neighborhood
transformation, by creating a safe nighttime environment which attracts people and encourages nighttime activities. The project became one of the first LEED certified for Neighborhood Development.
