The Science Center is located at the heart of Mideaʼs new Headquarter, adjacent to the He Art Museum. It functions as a high-tech exhibition center, embodying Midea Groupʼs core philosophy of “Technology for Good, Life for Beauty.”
In its layout, the Science Center aligns with the central axis of Mideaʼs Headquarter and the circular main building of the He Art Museum. It is composed of horizontally stacked semi-cubic volumes based on functional requirements.
Taking inspiration from traditional Chinese courtyard architecture, the Science Center features a column-free interior space with circulation naturally unfolding around a central atrium. Soft natural light filters through a three-level water pool, creating a subtle and serene atmosphere.
The facade is constructed with high-purity white artificial stone and large-sized ultra-clear glass, giving the building a rigorous technological aesthetic and a futuristic spatial expression.
The interior design employs materials and forms of utmost simplicity, serving as an ideal backdrop for high-tech robotic exhibits.
The landscape design lowers the original plaza to create a rippling water surface. The building, with its interplay of solid and void, stands by the water, becom-ing the spiritual center of the surrounding office buildings.
