Microscape is a new collection of architecturally-precise models of cities around the world. We’re starting with one of the greatest cities of all: New York. The first phase is a series of 200 “microscapes” (distinct tiles of different parts of the city), which can be assembled into a complete, highly accurate model of Manhattan. Start building your own private New York City with a single microscape that includes your favorite landmark, like the Empire State Building or Rockefeller Center. Or choose a microscape with more personal significance -- where you live, went to school, met the love of your life.
Microscapes: Manhattan are the perfect gift for anyone who’s ever visited, been inspired by, or called the city home. Anyone, in other words, who already keeps a piece of New York City in their heart.
Microscape tiles measure 6-inches by 6-inches and range in height up to 5.5-inches tall (the height of One World Trade Center at 1:5000 scale). Backers of the inaugural Kickstarter campaign will have an opportunity to receive limited edition microscape tiles that beautifully capture notable landmarks and neighborhoods. Each specially numbered tile can be displayed on flat surfaces like tables and book shelves or can be easily mounted onto walls using the integrated slot. The microscape tiles can be displayed individually or combined to form the entire city of Manhattan measuring 3.5 feet by 12.5 feet when fully assembled. While the estimated retail price is $125, early backers will receive either individual tiles for as little as $65 from now through February 23rd when the campaign closes.
