The project is a 340 square foot studio apartment in Manhattan. The concept of the apartment was to provide an open plan that provides separate, but visually interconnected areas for the different functions of daily life. This variety of places within the unit offers a richer living environment than what would be provided by living in a single room in which all apartment functions are omnipresent. The apartment strategically accommodates and defines living, cooking, eating, working, sleeping and large storage requirements with millwork that wraps throughout the studio. All of this is accomplished in a tiny space without the need for inconvenient multi-functional pieces.
