The Metropolitan College of New York is a non-traditional, non-profit learning institution with an array of undergraduate and graduate degree programs designed for working professionals. Located in the heart of New York City’s Financial District, MCNY’s new 110,000 sq. ft. school required Lilker’s full MEP/FP engineering services. Lilker Lighting Group provided lighting design services and Lilker’s Technology Solutions Group provided technology engineering design services.
The spaces include main lobby and elevator lobbies on 3 floors, multipurpose room for up to 200 people, library, classrooms, laboratories, student lounge, offices, meeting spaces, and 2-story connecting staircase. MCNY’s vibrant red signature color is captured as glowing ceiling elements within each lobby and repeated in architectural, millwork, and furniture finishes throughout the school’s public spaces and classrooms, providing a unifying identity.
