Metropolis Penthouse
Architects: IDEE Architects
The interior redesign of the Metropolis Penthouse was executed with the aim of providing a premium living experience through minimalist design.
Situated on a high floor with a prime location and breathtaking views, in a high-end condominium in the heart of Hanoi, the apartment, originally designed, lacked cohesion, felt fragmented, and lacked distinct character.
The entire design of the Metropolis Penthouse was guided by several key principles:
Firstly, the apartment sought to capitalize on its distinctive feature - the high ceiling space and optimize the technical systems of a unit beneath the swimming pool. This created a dynamic interplay of varying ceiling heights between functional living areas, emphasizing architectural form over mere decoration.
The aim was to establish an expansive, modern, and upscale environment that accommodated the lifestyle of the occupants - individuals seeking a balance between private, luxurious amenities and a space to entertain and socialize with friends, as well as for younger members of the family.
Finally, the apartment aimed to embody the essence of minimalist design by eschewing unnecessary embellishments, allowing special items to stand out and be ready for display or rotation within the owner's art collection.
During the architectural design process, the architect sought to establish links between the integrated spaces on the mezzanine level, akin to large blocks placed within a spacious area, fostering flexibility and dynamism within the overall structure. Architectural proportions were meticulously calculated to influence the user's perception from various angles and enhance connectivity among family members.
Neutral tones were employed throughout the apartment, accentuating the contrast between light and dark color blocks. Coupled with thoughtful lighting design, this added subtle, refined highlights to the space.
The minimalist architectural lines were executed with particular attention to detail, especially at material surface transitions, resulting in a highly sophisticated experience for the project.
