Cooper Carry’s vision for two city blocks of East Harlem is a mixture of uses to anchor the 125th commercial corridor, provide a living room for the community and create a gateway into the district from the RFK Bridge crossing the East River. Located between 125th and 127th Streets, between Second and Third Avenues, the site is approximately 6 acres, consisting of three parcels totaling more than 1 million square feet. The multi-phased development will include more than 360,000 sf ofretail space, 37,400 sf of cultural space, 800 residential units and 156 parking spaces. Metro 125, which is Phase I of this multi-phase development includes street level retail and 50 affordable dwelling units, utilizing available public funding mechanisms. The project employed a fast track process to expedite the delivery of much neededaffordable units to the community.
