Topographical conditions of Quito has peculiar characteristics, which give a strong identity, as the pres- ence of mountains, slopes and ravines. Throughout its history, the city has undergone physical chang- es in the natural territory because of the uncontrolled urbanization and misguided intervention.
Emphasizing the RAVINES, the reality of these is quite harmful, as it has been given a negative role and significance, filling them, using them as dumps, mouth of urban runoff, implementing urban infrastructure, waterproof them or even settling informal housing; affecting ecological areas and the rich biodiversity that these presents.
Quito has begun to suffer the consequences of these misguided actions, such as the collapse of the sewerage infrastructure, floods, mass
movements, among other events.
These events gave way to an awareness by the municipal authorities, initiating projects that give way to environmental and urban sanitation of these, looking for the city health, recognizing them as a biodiverse element, and life in the middle
of the city.
For this reason in this thesis is created a methodology of intervention for streams and urban environment, in order to recover the ravines. Thus, the project is divided into three methodologies:
a) Analytical, b) Conceptual c) Proposal
