General description: The metamorphic table was made as a one-of-a-kind showpiece for the Skywood Showroom in Shanghai. The abstract shapes of the furniture give it an almost sculptural feeling. The piece has been described as “a mad mans work”, being cut out from a single block of onyx.
Materials: Blue/orange onyx
Focus: The table is made from one of nature’s most astonishing materials, and the intention is to showcase the greatness of the onyx stone. The story of the millions of years it took for the earth to produce this beautiful stone is told, with the help of the impressive craftsmanship it took to cut the amorphous shape using CNC technology.
