Merlo, 60 years of history. The exhibition itinerary

Cuneo, Italy

The setup and graphics of the exhibition "MERLO, 60 Years of History – The Exhibition Path" were designed to celebrate the identity and values of Merlo S.p.A. through a contemporary, dynamic, and engaging language.
The project transformed the exhibition space into a fluid narrative, alternating moments of emotional immersion with visually striking installations.
The layout of the rooms at Palazzo Samone, located in the historic center of Cuneo, allows visitors to explore the past, present, and future of the company through an experience that combines visual storytelling, aesthetics, and interactivity.
The itinerary begins and ends in a room designed as an introductory space and connection point. A central pier welcomes visitors with graphics on the front that introduce the exhibition's theme, while the rear section hosts an area dedicated to gadgets.
The company’s roots are narrated through an evocative path featuring veils printed with historical images, supported by metal structures and accompanied by a sound narration that guides visitors through the key stages of Merlo's foundation and growth.
A retrospective of projects developed between 1964 and 2000 is showcased in a room dominated by parallelepiped structures of varying sizes, in the brand's signature color palette. Objects and documents displayed here tell the story of Merlo's technical and design evolution. The use of green, the company’s iconic color, is not merely decorative but becomes an integral part of the narrative, reinforcing the visual connection to Merlo's identity.
The journey continues in an experiential space where green lights and veils, together with a video showcasing the painting areas, create an immersive atmosphere that transports visitors into the heart of the "Merlo world." This environment emphasizes the symbolic and chromatic significance of green as the company's emblem.
The most recent projects are presented in the next room through a multi-level totemic structure. Designed to be viewed from all angles, this element combines images, videos, and objects in a dynamic and interactive representation of Merlo's contemporary history.
The exhibition concludes with a tribute to the company’s community.
Photographs of employees, taken by Oscar Bernelli and displayed on individual steel pedestals, create an intimate and reflective space, highlighting the importance of the human element and making the connection between the company community and the brand tangible.
Outside the exhibition, a specially designed object serves as a focal point to attract passersby. This urban intervention invites people to stop, interact, and take photos, creating an immediate connection between the public and the exhibition.
