MENS SANA IN CORPORE SANOThe "concept" of the project comes from the desire not to completely erase the image of the recognizable structure of the Russian Cinema.The new facade will be the last piece that will confirm that a building is and has always been the main reference point for Russian films, characterized as a new beacon in the cultural life in Moscow, confirming the motto “MENS SANA IN CORPORE SANO”.There are therefore three elements that attract the visitor at first sight and are the same that are interpreted with a modern and contemporary art to characterize the most of new building:1) The ACCESS STAIRWAY is subject to a restyling that provides for the placement of the name of the theater as the subject of urban design and an extension of itself with the reconstruction of the central part of it, that it can accommodate more visitors and become a bastion for additional activities that can happen outside in the park.2) THE FACADE: as an offset of the internal one it expands outwards enclosing the terraces by creating a more comfortable new space to accommodate the activities that currently take place during the year.3) THE SIDE WALL FINISH SYSTEM: the division of rhomboidal side walls, although they are not original but recently applied, suggested the structural system of Curtain-wall facade, where a series of glass boxes overhanged on three different heights enrich the facade with various games of lighting and shadowing.The new complex has an increased stand volume for inclusion of new functions; some of the most important items are fit on the current coverage of the theater: the gala hall with restaurant and nightclub are open wide than the theater, thanks to the systems with self-rising that allows an additional revenues.
