BRR first began working with Menlo in 2018 when the owner was searching for a larger space in downtown Kansas City for his growing software company. Our team provided early schematic design services on several potential spaces before finding one that fit with the owner’s vision and goals. Ultimately, the two-story 22,000 sq. ft. building was chosen to fit the owner’s desire to be part of an energetic neighborhood in Downtown Kansas City, but it also required significant programming improvements in order to make the space work for the company’s needs.
BRR worked to relocate the front entrance and vestibule and designed a new elevator shaft to accommodate employees and guests. The building also offers more space than is currently needed for the company, so the team designed an additional tenant space for sublease. The modernization of the building in an old, established part of the city provides a welcoming environment for hosting clients and guests, as well as attracting and retaining talented employees.
