The school was designed to combine different departments in an official and popular way. To make the school more socially engaging, the design team imagined the school as an extension of the village, like walking in a small village and passing through the volumes, with small granulations and open spaces between the masses to improve ventilation and coolness. we looked for a location that might bring the villagers together during informal school hours and serve the locals during official hours without causing any disruption. The school was organized around a central square as a social function element capable of hosting a variety of activities such as local community play space, presenting shows, holding local ceremonies, and so on. The school was classified into private and public sectors based on its official and public services, and the transformation of the usual square form of the square into a U-shaped form took place in the direction of opening and inviting the main entrance. The activity and spatial hierarchy is such that it responds to the compatible functions and related to the leisure time of the village residents in cultural and social fields, for example, the location of the multi-purpose hall at the edge of the facade, next to the existing playground, an opportunity to communicate with It provides the local community in open and closed space so that its potential can be used in the service of the local community in times of need. The class has been placed around private courtyards, and attention has been paid to the continuity of open and closed space to offer the possibility to perform different activities. Paying attention to private yards while giving identity and creating a sense of belonging to students will also lead to higher quality of education. The presence of local fruit trees in the yards, like tamarind tree, is an excuse to gather and be happy.
The design team aimed to use locally sourced organic materials in the village for the building project. This approach would decrease energy use, promote environmental sustainability, and enhance building durability. The team wanted the building to have a modern appearance while also reflecting its local qualities. Thus, we explored indigenous construction methods such as Kapar, which have a lightweight, flexible, and durable construction. The primary beams and columns of the Kapar structure are made of palm branches, with mat covers and palm leaf joints. The school on the ground floor represents modern and new architecture, while the placement of native architecture in the project's skyline establishes the connection between tradition and modernity in a different way. It communicates with the mountain scenery of the village and is compatible with it, making it a part of the context. Using recyclable materials is highly valued and important in the region's climate. The low cost of obtaining materials and building elements of capers, the availability, and the presence of skilled local labor will significantly reduce the cost of construction.
