Meikei High School was established in Tsukuba Science City with the aim of developing human resources who can play an active role in the world.
This project was realized on the 30th anniversary of its establishment and the occasion of the certification as an International Baccalaureate School.
On the ground floor there is a lounge ,IB Chemistry Lab and small classrooms separated by movable walls for various educational programs. On the upper floor there is a gallery and multipurpose "Agora Hall" with 300 movable seats. The colors of exterior and interior are characterized by the traditional Japanese colors derived from climate and four seasons in Tsukuba . It is for students who study in Tsukuba, develop their individuality, and set out for the world.
This architecture, which aims to play a central role in practicing and passing on the founding principles on a daily basis, was named after Agora, where Greek sages interacted.
