The project's ambition is to create a new concept of entertainment: not only a multiplex but a system of leisure spaces with the innovative idea of putting together movie theatres with an IMAX theatre, conceiving a space where leisure meets culture. The presence of an "IMAX theatre 3D", designed for high level cultural and educational movies, creates the conditions for a scholastic use and, as a first example of its kind in Italy, becomes a turist attraction not only for Milan but for the entire region. The multiplex, designed by Giancarlo Ragazzi in collaboration with EDILNORD PROGETTI SPA, is located in the south-west of Milan, already characterised by important functions for the surrounding area, with the aim to transform it in a great urban function. The project consists in approximately 16.000 smq of the following functions: movie theater (6.400 sqm), playrooms and leisure spaces (5.600 sqm), hall (1.000 sqm), offices (400 sqm), "IMAX theatre" (2.600 sqm). The covered area occupies 8.200 sqm.The cinema complex develops 11 movie theatres for a total of 2.500 seats, an "IMAX theatre" for 450 viewers, an underground car park of two levels and an outdoor car park (for a total of 800 parking places: 630 indoor and 170 outdoor). The functions are distributed in three volumes: the main building includes the 11 movie theatres and the underground car park. A cylindric building includes the "IMAX theatre", for special movies in high definition and with a spectacular impact. Outside, a scenografic square with an open air theatre and a funtain with water games leads the people to the main entrance of the complex.
