Redesign and expansion of the former mine building ‘Karl Friedrich’
in Aachen-Lauernsberg. In order to underline the urban context, the
expansion does not follow the style of the main buliding but has its own
architectural language.

The design of the expansion translates the traditional industrial way
of buliding in a modern way. The innovative building skin and the
multifunctional interior characterise the building as a new, unique
space.
